Garage Conversion with Mezzanine Floor

A loft conversion was undertaken to create an extra bedroom with a mezzanine floor . The work was carried out under Permitted Development as the roof height was not increased. The  4 Velux windows could also be added under Permitted Development, making a light airy space more similar to a loft conversion than a garage conversion. Building Regulations approval was required in order for it to be classed as a habitable room . Properties on modern estates sometimes have their Permitted Development rights removed .  Properties in conservation areas , listed buildings and Areas of Outstanding Beauty will also need to apply for planning permission.Briggs Tanner Builders can take care of any planning issues, provide plans and building regulation specifications or alternatively we can work from your plans and specifications.
